Cary Lerman
General Counsel & Corporate Secretary
Cary Lerman has been on the Board of Directors for thirteen years, and has just completed eight years on the Executive Committee, serving first as Assistant Secretary, followed by Vice-President of Finance, then Vice-President of Education, and most recently as Corporate Secretary and General Counsel. He is currently Corporate Secretary and General Counsel, and he is the Chair of the Legal Committee. He also serves on the Contracts, Insurance and Clergy Transition committees of the Board of Directors. Previously, he served as President of the Men’s Club, chaired the Temple’s ad hoc Property Tax Rebate Committee, served on the Temple/SAA Oversight Committee, was a member of the SAA Board and a member of its Budget Committee, and served on the Temple’s Audit, Board Nominating, Investment, Religious School, House and Grounds, Program and Technology Committees. He was Chair of the ad hoc Clergy Succession Committee. He and his wife were recipients of the Men’s Club’s Burning Bush Award and he received the Men’s Club’s award for Man of the Year. Cary is a partner in the law firm Munger Tolles & Olson.
Cary and his wife, Hallie, have been members of Sinai since 1977, and both their daughters attended SAA. Hallie is the author of the acclaimed book “Crying for Imma – Battling for the Soul on the Golan Heights.”
