Jonathan Curran came to Israel at age 18 and enlisted in the IDF where he joined an elite military unit responsible for targeted strikes against Israel's enemies. After completing his 3-year mandatory service, he served in the Shabaq (Israel’s FBI) and is currently registered for miluim service. Since October 7th, Jonathan has served in the North defending the country and has been in Gaza several times. Jonathan started playing football in Israel after he left the military in 2010. Saturday, June 15 11:30am Ziegler Hall Dor will also speak during Shabbat Services beforehand. Dor Shachar, born Ayman Abu Sobuh in 1977, was the third son of a Muslim family in Khan Yunis, Gaza. At the age of four, witnessing a Jewish soldier putting on tefillin, he knew deep inside that he was a Jewish soul born in the wrong place. He fled to Israel at 13, declaring himself a Jew.
